Paul Bodlovich
The West Australian Music Industry Association; CEO
Born in that most famous of years,1969, Paul started out in the music industry as a fan. Sometime in his early teens, he moved up the "industry ladder" into the role of instrumental music student (guitar) in junior high school (learning such gems as Four Strong Winds, Lyin' Eyes and the theme to the Pink Panther). With a sideways career move (to the electric bass) and some annoying business school studies (Bachelor of Commerce - University of Western Australia ) in his late teens through early twenties, Paul moved into a senior industry role as a performing, recording and at some times even, a "being paid" musician. With life's twilight rapidly approaching, Paul retired and decided that perhaps getting a job that actually paid ok wasn't a bad idea - a concept widely supported by his wife and kids. Having moonlighted in the arts sector in roles focused around financial control, corporate governance and strategic development, and also picking up nerdy skills like website coding and database building as a side-thought, it seemed that running a little organisation like WAM couldn't be too hard. Well, ten years later, he's still there and no closer to Nirvana.
