Jim Cooperman

tinyOGRE Entertainment; COO & General Counsel

Jim Cooperman is the COO, General Counsel and one of the founders of tinyOGRE Entertainment. tinyOGRE is the prototype for music companies of the future. By forming a separate business venture with each artist (typically an LLC), tinyOGRE's relationship with its artists is premised on trust, transparency and an alignment of interests. Prior to launching tinyOGRE in early 2010, Jim was COO and EVP of Business & Legal Affairs at Wind-Up Entertainment and was instrumental in designing and implementing the strategic path for one of the nation's foremost independent record labels. Additionally, he oversaw A&R Administration, Human Resources, Operations, International, Publishing, Licensing, and Pronto Merch, the company's merchandising concern. Prior to joining Wind-Up, Cooperman was the Co-General Counsel of BMG, where he devised and actualized online and mobile deal making. He also handled Business Affairs for BMG Distribution and the BMG Strategic Marketing Group. Cooperman entered the music industry as a lawyer at RCA Records. He thereafter founded the in-house Business and Legal Affairs Department of Sony Music's RED Distribution and that of its sister label, Relativity Records, and later ran Business Affairs for Relativity's successor LOUD Records. Jim currently serves on the Board of Directors for independent music trade organization A2IM (American Association of Independent Music).
