Even in the age of laptop production, the vast majority of creative projects involve some form of collaboration. While it’s common knowledge that a lawyer should avoid conflicts of interest, difficulties may arise when a band or production company is closely associated with its driving talent, or when group members want to retain a single lawyer to advise them all and the project falls apart. This presentation will give you the tools to determine exactly who the client is, and will outline what steps to take when the answer to that question is not clear. We will also address how to manage client communications, confidentiality and conflicts as they all move into the cloud.
